Advantages of Luxury Vinyl
There are multiple flooring options, including laminate and regular vinyl, that aim to replicate the natural looks of hardwood and stone. However, only luxury vinyl flooring perfectly replicates these looks. Luxury vinyl has a special photographic film layer that includes a super-HD photo of either wood or stone. Plus, the floor’s surface is even textured to mirror the exact grains and other characteristics of the wood or stone image! It’s no surprise that most homeowners have a difficult time discerning between luxury vinyl and its natural counterparts.
Luxury vinyl floors offer 100% water resistance. Any spills can simply be wiped from the floor’s surface without ever reaching the subfloor. This is important because if moisture reaches the subfloor, harmful mold and mildew will usually grow. Also, luxury vinyl remains totally stain resistant without any special sealants or treatments. Both the water and stain resistance are permanent.
Because of its flexible construction, luxury vinyl flooring is incredibly resilient. It is therefore relatively comfortable underfoot, especially when compared to hard surfaces such as hardwood and stone. Many luxury vinyl options even include special soft layers, such as cork or fiberboard, for extra comfort. At the same time, the surface remains warm to the touch.
Luxury vinyl flooring is very easy to clean and maintain. Only routine damp mopping is required, and this may only be necessary in areas with significant foot traffic. Also, luxury vinyl floors, because they are resilient, will rarely crack or chip. Nonetheless, when it comes to cleaning, we do recommend relying on any manufacturer specifications so as to not void any warranties.
